Gov’t condemns violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty

The Government of Guyana, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has condemned the recent attacks on Ukraine by Russia.

Ukraine on Thursday, experienced the launch of several missiles near their capital city, Kyiv.

the ministry in a release said “the Government of Guyana condemns the violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by Russia. We call for an immediate cessation of Military action. The Government is now in consultation with our international partners and will issue a full statement before the end of the day.

According to reports from Aljazeera, the attacks from Russia has resulted in the deaths of dozens of persons.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in a recent statement on the UN’s Facebook page has called for peace.

“Give peace a chance. Too many people have already died,” the UN Secretary-General stated.
